Do We truly believe in a Higher Consciousness?
Do we truly believe in God? Believe in a Heart felt and true manner? Believe in a Presence that permeates through us and moves through all parts of Earth’s beauty ? Awe inspired by its magnificence that could only have been the touch of a broader Universal power?? Do we see the Divine light in the sparkling eyes of an innocent child? Do we believe in the deep rooted peace that is found as our reward when we hear total silence?
The question bears asking because of the elusiveness of faith. Centered faith. Not believing in a Higher Consciousness because of a need for a psychological safety net. Not believing because it fits a tradition in which we were born and the pressure to fit in. Society’s expectations of how we should be, regardless of each of our unique individual psyches. Not believing because the thought of own own death can feel so ominous and despairing when we really face it that we brush the topic under a carpet of activity and delusion.
If any of these indications resonate then this Self- centered belief makes us postpone the answering of the question of True belief in God or a Higher consciousness throughout our Lives until we approach our own End. We don’t ask ourselves the question because we may be afraid of the answer. We could be looking into the mirror of truth. It could become a shattering of the towers of self- deception that have taken us away from our core nature.
In Life these existential questions deserve more then a half way answer. The true beauty is in going to the full depth of what we do and believe.
One good way to answer this question of true faith in the Beyond is to ask ourselves whether we have as deep a rapport with God as we have with our best friend. This intimate connection and confidence that we have with our friend. Is it the same with Higher Consciousness? Do we share our joy with God? Is He close to us or is he some image of a grey bearded Old Man that we have created or has been created for us? If the answer is no. We must be brutal but honest. Do we feel that we must baby step our way into this Paramount relationship or is it just a supreme waste of time? Let’s be raw and real. If the answer is no then Let us stop and plant our feet firmly in the land of disbelief.
If we truly DO NOT believe then it is far better to accept it. Wash away our self -serving hypocrisy and be clean in our admission. Stay true to ourselves.
If however the answer is yes then we will be able to build from a position of strength for our faith. It will be a solid foundation with the basic tenet that what we truly think of God is what God thinks of us.
An intuitive sliver of Presence can germinate eternally.
This is extremely personal and one of the most, if not most important question of our lives.
Einstein asked whether the Universe is a friendly place? By asking the question he signals that the Universe ( Cosmic Force ) exists because what else could have the will to decide whether it was friendly or not?
Ever since We the thinking man reflected on Life and the existence of a Bigger power there has been the projection of our fears and hopes on this made to measure Supernatural entity. Usually into an image of someone else that we could blame or rely on for things beyond our own human limitations. Strip all of that away and let’s be honest today as to whether we are doing the same thing? Can we have the courage to listen within and outside to see if we can feel this Higher presence? If we can’t then we must go our own way truthfully.
Today the thinking man is imbibed with the need for self- improvement. Many are approaching this from a point of optimization of themselves and their own human experience. It could be argued that it is a self -centered perspective. However no one should cast the stone of accusation that self- improvement is self- centered improvement because it is noble to want to better oneself. Shall we stop there? Shall we take the next step toward the improvement of all `kin` that Life has brought to us? Lives that help Society.
Let us then look at the sphere of Self Improvement and ultimately realization. is it possible to achieve without a divine parameter? Without believing in God or a higher reasoning. Yes . It can be metaphysical and cognitive work that helps us become an untainted ,shining and intensely living original version of ourselves. The answer is yes.
However with the notion of a Mystical connection with our true Self then the search for life’s meaning takes on a sweeter, ecstatic taste for our Life. It becomes a Mystical dance. An ultimate divine connection of our Soul purports us to also be an Integral part of God/Higher Consciousness..
Let us ask again and with courage. Do we believe in a Higher Consciousness?
With either answer being firmly in our hand we can move forward. Each journey is personal and not for others to pre suppose the direction it should take.
However one thing is clear. Each one of us will not be walking on the side of the road with no way to get to our destination but instead be striding forward firmly on the path of our true belief.
